Parkinson's Disease May Be Related to Pesticide Exposure
A recent study published in the Archives of Neurology suggests a link between exposure to pesticides and the development of Parkinson's disease - link. The study looked at exposure to 8 different chemicals -- those with exposure to these 8 pesticides showed double the risk of developing Parkinson's disease compared to those with no exposure. This is not surprising since many pesticides work by being neurological poisons.

Questions Raised About Seasonal Flu Shots
A yet to be published study from British Columbia has raised concerns about possible negative effects of the regular seasonal flu shot. According to the study -- those receiving the regular seasonal flu shot where twice as likely to come down with H1N1. Concerns have officials in British Columbia advising only those over 65 years old to receive the annual flu vaccine. Read more.

Homeopathic nosodes initiate antibody production according to new research
The production of antibodies indicates developing immunity against a specific infectious agent. The effectiveness regular vaccines are measured by their ability to stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies. As the dangers and limitations of conventional vaccines continue to come to the light ( see "Deadly Immunity" by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., published in Rolling Stone magazine) it is encouraging to find there are possible alternatives.
Homeopathic nosodes have been used to prevent infections for over 200 years. But little direct research has been done to prove their effectiveness. A recent study published in the Journal of Scientific Exploration has shown homeopathic dilutions of tularemia gave significant protection against infection of tularemia in mice -- here is the link. Though all but one (1000C) of the homeopathic potencies given afforded protection, two potencies (30C and 200C) actually stimulated the production of antibodies. This is a very promising area of research in the prevention of infectious disease, and suggests that homeopathy could play a powerful and important role in the future prevention of epidemic disease.

Cuba uses Homeopathy to prevent epidemic
Cuban health officials make history administering homeopathic nosodes to 2 million people virtually stopping an epidemic of Leptospirosis. Each year in Cuba thousands people contract the infection of leptospirosis. This is an infection spread through water contaminated with animal urine, usually during hurricane season in Cuba. It is a severe infection that can result in liver and kidney damage, and sometimes death.
This year, the regularly rising rates of infection dropped to nearly zero after health officials in Cuba administered a homeopathic nosode produced from leptospira bacteria. Homeopathic nosodes have a long history of use in the treatment and prevention of infectious disease and are touted as an alternative to the more conventional vaccines. This is the largest mass "inoculation" using homeopathic nosodes to date. The results are incredible.

Hold Your Breath
You are what you eat, but what about what you breath. Evidence continues to mount on the relationship between our health and the air we breath. A recent study has found evidence for increased rates of cancer amongst workers in rubber producing factories. Vapors coming from the production of rubber have been known to induce tumors in mice. Now evidence suggests these vapors be related to an increase in cancer rates amongst people working in rubber factories.
Another study indicates an increased risk of developing asthma amongst nurses exposed to hospital cleaning supplies and disinfectants. Glues, solvents, powder from latex gloves and general cleaning products have all been implicated.

Breathe Easy
Areas with the cleaner air showed a consistent and more dramatic increase in life span compared to those with less improved air quality. Here is a link to the study.
Just imagine what cleaning up our water, food supply and reducing the use of toxic household chemicals and body care products could do.
